Happy Halloween!!!

Boo!  Or should I say hello :)  I hope this find you all well...its finds me very tired (it's been a fun, but long and tiring week!)

As I've gotten older, Halloween has become one of my favorite holidays...and it seems to be a long lasting celebration!  This year, we kicked off the festivities on Tuesday night in DuPont Circle for the annual High Heel Race!  Every Tuesday before Halloween, people gather to watch this race where guys wear high heels (at least 2 inches tall) and race a quarter mile down 17th Street.  It was super crowded, but we had a good time nonetheless.  We actually met Amy before for dinner and drinks, and then took her sister Meghan our afterwards for her birthday.

The High Heel Race on 17th Street...the winner ran fassst!

The High Heel Race wasn't the only race we were involved with this week though, because this weekend we headed off to the Men's Health Urbanathalon in New York City (no high heels involved!)  This is actually the same race that Seth and I ran two years ago in Chicago.  So on Friday, Seth, Brooke, her boyfriend Matt, and I hopped in the car and headed to NYC for a Halloween race weekend.  After picking up our race packet and getting some food, we headed to the hotel for some zzz's and rested up for the race.  As for the race, it's a 9.5 mile course with obstacles every mile or so (tires, wall climbs, monkey bars, etc...)  It went really well (minus the rain and cool temps), but at the very end, a huge gust of wind came through and blew over the finish line (which was being held up by huge metal poles) that fell on top of a woman!  It was literally about 50 feet away from me and about 30 seconds after we crossed the finish line, so we were lucky it missed us...because it knocked out the lady it hit and she was gushing blood...so I sure hope she was OK!  On a more positive note though, the race was fun and we even got a medal for finishing :)

Stretching before the race...good thing!

The finish line: climbed under cars, over buses, and jumped a wall!

One of the obstacles: the stairs at the Mets stadium.
After from the race, we did have a weekend in New York to conquer, so we got some rest and prepared for a fun night!  Amy, her sister Meghan, and her friend Jade all came up on Saturday and met us for a night of Halloween mayhem :)  As you will see below, we had a wonderful night: dinner, a piano bar, and dancing!  It doesn't matter how many times I've been to New York, I am always amazed...and sure am glad we live close enough to be able to make it up there as often as we do :)  But enough talking about it, how about you just see for yourself.

Seth and I all dressed up :)

Well, I think that's about all she wrote...and I'm pooped so I know that's all I wrote :)  Time to walk Miss Honeychild and head to bed...until the next time - xo!
